About Tampa Personal Injury Lawyer – Peter F. Catania
Peter F. Catania is a co-founding partner of Catania & Catania Injury Lawyers and one of the best personal injury lawyers in Tampa, FL, with more than 35 years of experience fighting for accident victims and their families throughout Hillsborough County and the greater Tampa Bay area.
BACKGROUND & CREDENTIALS
Peter earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University in 1989. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
THE DEFENSE ADVANTAGE
Most personal injury attorneys have only ever worked for plaintiffs. Peter started on the other side, spending the early years of his career representing insurance companies. That experience gave him a direct, inside understanding of how insurers evaluate, minimize, and defend claims. In 1992, he left the defense side and co-founded Catania & Catania Injury Lawyers with his brother Paul to represent injury victims instead. Since then, the firm has recovered over $500M on behalf of injured clients across Tampa Bay.
Peter represents injury victims across Tampa and Tampa Bay in a wide range of cases, including car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents, Uber/Lyft and rideshare crashes, slip and fall, wrongful death, product liability, nursing home abuse, brain and spinal cord injuries, workers’ compensation, and bad faith insurance claims.

How much does it cost to hire Peter Catania as my personal injury lawyer in Tampa?
Florida’s statute of limitations for most personal injury cases is two years from the date of the accident. Missing this deadline typically bars you from recovering any compensation, regardless of how strong your case is. If your claim involves a government entity, the deadline is shorter. Contact Peter Catania as soon as possible after your accident to protect your rights.

No attorney can give an honest figure at the outset, and be skeptical of anyone who does. Case value depends on the severity of your injuries, medical costs, lost income, long-term impact on your life, available insurance coverage, and the strength of the evidence. Peter Catania evaluates each case individually and gives clients a clear, honest assessment based on the specific facts, not a generic estimate.
What is my personal injury case worth?
What is my personal injury case worth?
Most personal injury cases settle before trial. However, insurance companies are far more likely to offer fair settlements when they know an attorney is genuinely prepared to take the case to court. Peter Catania has 35+ years of trial experience and a reputation for litigating when necessary, which is a direct advantage during settlement negotiations.

Peter began his career in 1990, representing insurance companies and their insured. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of how insurers evaluate claims, where they look for weaknesses, and how they attempt to minimize payouts. He now uses that insider knowledge exclusively on behalf of injury victims, a strategic advantage that most plaintiff’s attorneys simply don’t have.
